TOUM Packaging Strategy, Shelf-Ready Design to Boost Middle Eastern Street Food Appeal
Tactile, Middle Eastern street-food packaging where a garlic-inspired logotype meets raw paper, bold type and warm, paprika-toned palettes.
Tactile Middle Eastern Branding
As a branding curator, I champion projects that translate culture into tactile, usable design systems daily. Kashyap Bhatt’s TOUM identity is a masterclass in rooted, thoughtful, and restrained visual storytelling and discipline. A bespoke logotype and modified U shape evoke garlic toum, shawarma slices, and handcrafted culinary gestures. The warm palette pulls paprika, toasted sesame, and pita bread hues into a coherent, appetizing system. Material choices like unbleached paper and raw fibers add texture, depth, authentic sensory value to packaging. Thoughtful typography, iconographic stamps, and a clear grid deliver functional clarity across boxes, wraps, and labels.
The system avoids fast food clichés, favoring scale contrast and bold, condensed typography for strong presence. Each container becomes a canvas for the mark, making brand recognition instant and contextually relevant everywhere. Small technical labels and horizontal grids maintain order, while stamps and tape provide artisanal retail character. This case study teaches how restraint and material honesty amplify casual food concepts into memorable brands. Designers seeking tactile systems will find rich inspiration, authentic tone, and practical direction in TOUM.
