Designing Life Into a Brand
As a branding curator, I champion projects that fuse craft, concept, and strategy into one clear system. KIND’s Osland rebrand grows from biology, translating trout roe, DNA, and fish form into a living mark. The circular sign behaves like an organism, an open arc paired with a trailing scatter of roe-like dots. Coral reds and marine blues balance warmth and scientific clarity, giving the identity both character and credibility. The lowercase wordmark reads as texture when blind-embossed, letting materiality speak with restraint. Production discipline and scaled application prove the idea, from packaging to architecture, the system never feels decorative here.
KIND sharpened strategy before drawing a single lockup, making the identity act like one coherent organism across touchpoints. Cards emboss without ink, folder covers carry roe-dot fields, and signage scales the circular mark to building size. The palette balances coral, sand, grey, dark blue, and breeze, yielding warmth and clinical precision in equal measure. This project won Gold in Rebranding Projects at the 2026 European Design Awards, validating thoughtful concept and craft. If you study how biology informs form, and how production earns idea credibility, this case deserves careful attention. Read the story for images, process notes, and craft details.
