Raw clay cans, coordinate labels and clinical grids, a minimalist skincare identity that highlights origin and honest utility.

Raw Honesty in Skincare Packaging, A Lesson for Modern Brands

As a branding curator, I champion work that balances clarity and courage. Katerina Bres’ RAW system celebrates raw product origins, using simple labels and tactile clay cans. It strips away gimmicks, prioritizing refillable utility and genuine storytelling. The restrained typography and modular grids create readable hierarchy, while the untouched textures communicate provenance. This is packaging that earns trust through understatement, not noise.

Designers will study its discipline, then adapt its mechanics. Labels list location coordinates, turning origin into a feature. The raw refill can becomes the visual hero, supported by clean grids and clear typography. Handwritten labels add a clinical, almost prescription feel, lending authenticity and craft. For identity systems, this project is a masterclass in restraint, showing how honest narratives can elevate brand perception.

Beyond aesthetics, this system is purpose driven, balancing production practicality and meaningful storytelling. The modular approach simplifies label updates, reducing waste and enabling localized narratives. Photographic elements and coordinates tie products to landscapes, deepening consumer connection. This work proves that strategic simplicity can strengthen brand loyalty, while supporting refillable, more sustainable product models. It is required reading for identity designers and creative directors worldwide now.
